Description The word "discourse" gives the idea that language is structured according to models (structure) that expressions of people follow when they participate in various areas of social life, such as "medical discourse" political discourse "etc.. Discourse analysis is the analysis of these models. It is not only an approach, but a series of interdisciplinary approaches that can be used to investigate many areas in different types of researches. Three different approaches of discourse analysis: Discourse theory of Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe-it; Critical analysis of discourse; Discoursive psychology
Objectives This course will help students understand that: - our ways of talking do not reflect our world in a neutral way; -identities and social relations play an active role in the creation and changing of the world; - different discourses, which represent specific ways of talking and understanding of social world, are involved in a constant battle with each other to manage each for himself hegemony, which means the hegemonic to fix the meanings of language in its own way; - the specific use of a language can change individual discourses and from there the social and cultural world, through the combination of elements taken from various discourses; - Our access to reality happens always through language. Through language we create representations of reality that are not just reflections of pre-existing reality, but contribute to build reality.
