In the one day meeting there were discussed the curriculum and all the materials that programs at Department of Communication Sciences include: Bachelor in Communication Sciences, Master of Science in Communication Science in Journalism and Public Relations profiles. The discussion leader of the workshop was vice head of the department Mr. Ramadan Çipuri, who considered very important the need for continuous review of university curricula, which according to him should be updated with developments in the sector and with the most recent literature. As was discussed in general for the curriculum, later on all the content was analized with cases in detail, so to prevent the repetition of themes and literature. During the discussions, a special importance was given to the methods that should be practiced for a more effective teaching. The workshop was an initiative proposed by the Council of Quality Assurance at Bedër University. 12MAR Bedër University organizes the second student conference: "Communication, media and social responsibility" Department of Communication Sciences at ''Hëna e Plotë'' (Bedër) University organized the second student conference with the theme: "Communication, media and social responsibility". In this conference were presented 18 scientific papers and reports written by third year students of the bachelor level. The conference was opened with the welcoming speech by the vice-chairperson of the Department of Communication Sciences also chairman of the conference, phd cand. Ramadan Çipuri, who thanked the guests for their participation and students for the work done. During his speech, he highlighted the importance that research means to communication science students, in addition to theoretical training they receive in the auditorium, as well as development of professional practices in various media. The conference was also welcomed by the Rector of the University "Hëna e Plotë "(Bedër), Dr. Ferdinand Gjana. Before students started to present in the conference room, Dr. Gjana praised the work of the Department of Communication Sciences, which, according to him, has been very active in the three years since the opening of the "Hëna e Plotë" (Bedër) University. Prof.Assoc.Dr. Rahim Ombashi, a lecturer in the department, considered the student research as an added value to current achievements in this institution of higher education in Albania. He emphasized the importance that contains the research of students, as a way that directly affects their intellectual formation and contribution to society. Later on, the conference continued with student presentations, which were divided into three sessions. In the first session, titled: "Ethics and social responsibility in journalism ", referred six students. In the second session, titled " Screen, power and its impact on social life", six other students presented their works. The third session was a little more special, with the title "Social reality through the genre of reportage'',some other students presented their reportage realized on different themes. At the end of the conference, certificates were distributed to students who referred. 07MAR Dritan Shakohoxha invited by Bedër University students The well known sports journalist Dritan Shakohoxha was the next invited guest by the students of Department of Communication Sciences and members of the Sports Club at "Hëna e Plotë" (Bedër) University. In an open conversation with students, Mr. Shakohoxha initially talked about the first steps in his career and the challenges faced in the profession of journalism.The interest of students for the current state of Albanian football was huge, especially for our national team's destiny. Dritan Shakohoxha noted the positive steps that have been cast, while did not rule out the possibility of achieving high results by our national team, in the future. "I believe that National Team can achieve good results in the qualifiers for Euro 2016, as we always are mobilized when we play with opponents who on paper are better than us. We have never been defeated with profound results from the big teams, where in many cases the fate has decided too, as in the last games with the Netherland or Portugal," he said. One of the topics discussed was the use of standard Albanian language in Albanian journalism, particularly in sports events commentary, where Mr. Shakohoxha stressed that this issue is often discussed by sports commentators and linguistics specialists. "Obviously this remains one of the points where we as journalists should try to work hard, also for the impact that we have in society. This is related to the intellectual and literacy level of everyone who works in this field. Albanian language itself is rich enough so as not to use foreign words in match commentaries" he said. Among numerous gags, also expressing satisfaction, at the conclusion of the talks, students present in the hall took pictures with the journalist Dritan Shakohoxha. 03MAR Trainings on the art of photography Photography course is the next training organized in this start of semester, with the students of Department of Communication Sciences. For about twenty sessions, interested students will attend lectures by professional photographer Ols Qazimi. Besides members of the Photography Club, the course is open to all students who wish to get known and develop their skills in the art of photography. The content of this module, along with the necessary theoretical side, includes individual and also group projects, which will be performed by the students. At the end of the course, with the initiative of Photographers Club at the hall of the University "Hëna e Plotë " (Bedër) will be realized an exhibition with the best photographs realized by students. 28FEB Anisa Ymeri: Ethics, this forgotten element in the Albanian media The journalist Anisa Ymeri, talked about the lack of professional ethics as one of the most problematic elements in the Albanian media. Invited to a conversation with the students of the Department of Communication Sciences, she said that the competition for the recent news has made the Albanian television, mainly those informative, totally neglect the elements of ethics. "It is absurd that footages filmed by an operator go unchecked and unmounted into the direct broadcasting," said Anisa Ymeri, while advocating the fact that in none of television newsrooms, ethical issues are discussed. 19FEB ''News Writing and Reporting The development of extra-curricular programs is a priority of the Department of Communication Sciences. Like any other year, first year students attended the program "News Writing and Reporting", a module that aims to familiarize them with the practices of journalism. Developed in 15 sessions, there were explained the specifics of the press and broadcast news, ways of getting information and news sources, etc. ''News Writing and Reporting'' is an intensive course that takes place in the second year, while with this training the first year students have the opportunity to attend professional internships during the summer months, within the country and abroad in different medias. 10FEB Ends the course for audio montage Technological developments have changed the ways of exercising journalism, where the skills of professionals in this field should be in some directions. This academic year the Department of Communication Sciences organized 20 sessions on training for audio montage. Students participating this course had the opportunity to acquire editing techniques, into being able to realize the full stories for radio broadcast. On this basis, they can realize radio broadcasts in technical terms. 06FEB Communication lecturers present their works in Rome Academic staff of the Department of Communication Sciences participated in the III International Conference on Social Sciences ( III European Conference on Social and Behavioral Sciences), hosted by the University of Rome La Sapienza in collaboration with ''International Organisation for Research in Social Sciences'' ( International Association of Social Science Research ). The theme that Ramadan Çipuri referred was "Autocensure as a part of communication in the Albanian media newsrooms'' where specially stressed the conditions in which Albanian journalists work. Lecturer of the Department of Communication Sciences, Mr.Alban Tartari referred about "Turkish television productions in the Albanian media, the development of a new poetic medium''. While a topic of interest was presented by Mr. Erlis Cela who referred " New Medias, their impact on the sources of information on Albanian television journalism".
