After making a presentation of the agency, its mission and composition, Mr. Çela, explained to students the necessary procedures for the measurement of visual media audience and how "Telemetrix" operates in market. Conversation continued on student questions, where among the others he discussed the principles of data objectivity and transparency, highest audience Tv shows,the setting of fee according to rankings etc. 13JAN "Genuine Effect’’ presents its activity Elda Gjoka, founder of the "Genuine Effect" was the next guest who held an open lecture to the students of Communication Department. Ms. Gjoka, as a Marketing Expert, presented her agency’s activity focusing on the process of advertising. According to her '' Genuine ' means the real effect, to know how to point out the values. '' Genuine '' effect must be a longstanding effect, and is special in its kind. Due to her sports career Ms.Gjoka also focused on the management of sports events, a topic which is not known as the other general marketing activities. She conducted an interactive conversation in order to give students a practical information. 06JAN Lazar Semini: Impartiality and fairness, the two basic principles of international media Lazar Semini, correspondent of Associated Press in Albania, invited in "Students and Profession" cycle, held an open lecture on "Albanian actuality in world media". Mr Semini initially explained the history of the formation of news agencies and their development over the years. He focused on the importance of spreading the news especially with the help of technological developments. 'Impartiality and fairness are the two basic principles of international media. In these forms personal opinions and judgments can hardly be found because these kind of news require attribution, a special element of international media which in albanian media is often absent '' - he added. Mr Semini explained more specifically some instances of his work, including an analysis of Serbia-Albania post match situation and Greco-Italian ferry tragedy, enabling students a practical explanation. Regarding to the topic Albania in the international media, Mr.Semini added that every good or bad event is news, but everything depends on the method of preparation and access to the international information. 04DEC Meeting with the 7th Art begins with "Citizen Kane" ''Meeting with the seventh art'' is the new cycle which started at Bedër University. In this cycle, students will become familiar with the most prominent movies in the cinema world to obtain information on cinematography in years. This cycle consists of film watching and analysis, so that students can go beyond on what is presented. ''Citizen Kane'' was the movie that opened the program cycle. Director of Media Center made a presentation of the movie and gave general information about the cinema, starting with its origin as well as its progression in years. ''Meeting with the seventh art'' intends to affect and give a general culture formation among students, because the selected films represent important historical moments and figures. 03DEC Barbel Moser: The struggle for audience is won by objectivity, not by financial means Barbel Moser, Director of International Development at Radio France International held an open lecture with master students of Communication Department. Ms. Moser explained the functioning system of Radio France International, languages of communication, its staff, as well as the media group as a whole. Students were introduced to the beginnings of international media and its continuity over the years. At the same time, Moser explained the adaptation of Radio France International with technology by transfering the news to other means of communication too. According to Barbel Moser, objectivity is the one that differentiates RFI from other medias. She expained some cases where media groups which possess the best technology fail to take RFI’s listeners and followers, because the struggle for audience is won by objectivity, not by financial means. Asked whether radio would survive or not, Mrs. Moser replied yes. Radio will survive because it's a free communication mean, people have affinity with the radio, as well as because of urbanization, at rush hours people spend more time in car and listen more radio. Radio can attract audience if the journalist knows how to have the attention by presenting the news in a particular form. After the lecture, the conversation became interactive, Mrs. Moser asked some questions to students and then began to answer their questions. She said that journalism is a beautiful and difficult profession, but passion is the most important element. 02DEC MarCom Seminars: Landmark Communications in front of Bedër students The design, planning and managing publicity campaigns was the presentation topic of Landmark Communications with students of the Department of Communication. In the fourth seminar cycle "Marcom Seminars", Odeta Male (Managing Director) and George Spiliopoulos (Creative Director) held an open lecture about the steps that must be taken in order to create publicity spots and events. This lecture was a combination between theory and practice where guests explained their experiences in the organization of events, especially the campaign of Albtelecom and Eagle Mobile ‘’Puthe’’. Mr. Male said that working in an advertising agency requires a lot of effort and passion. The uniqueness of this work according to her is that each campaign or event requires a different engagement and that is the interesting part. The lecture then switched to a interactive conversation where students asked in detail about the duration of the implementation of a publicity spot, steps to be followed and specific questions related to certain events. 27NOV "Art of Communication" training starts Students of the Department of Communication Sciences started the training cycle "Art of Communication" offered by the Center for Media and Communication at Bedër University. This cycle includes 16 hours where will be discussed various topics prepared by the lecturer, at the same time editor in chief of Top Channel, Pandi Gjata. The objectives of this training are that students will get practical lectures as how to stand in front of the microphone and camera, how to change their voice in certain situations, where to emphasize the word or the sentence, how to use proper intonation, etc. Students are divided into two groups and through tasks that will be organized they will feel themselves like in a radio or television newsroom. They will share with each other the "role" of a journalist, a reporter, a speaker etc. In this way students will be familiar with the terrain and practice, where in addition to the theoretical baggage they will get introduced to important details of daily work of a reporter on the radio or television. This course intends in the end that students will be one step ahead of their colleagues from the same profile when faced with the editorial board of the radio or television. 26NOV Emanuela Pepkola: Representation of fair cause guarantees success in a campaign Administrator of Foundation Down Syndrome Albania, Emanuela Pepkola, was invited to an open lecture with master students of Communication Sciences program, where conversation was primarily focused on managing a marketing campaign. Ms. Pepkola shared with students her experience in setting up a foundation that she currently runs, starting from the brainstorming process, difficulties in the use of networks, organization of events, communication and support by the media as well as other elements used to achieve success. Asked whether it would have had the same result if her initiative would represent another cause Emanuela replied that difficulties would be numerous. That because issues such as children with Down syndrome are issues that arise emotion and reaction to the public, in any form of it. And that was exactly what guaranteed success in creating the Foundation Down Syndrome Albania and should be noted that everything in this campaign is achieved only by the contribution and volunteerism of individuals and different entities. Another important part of this meeting were discussions and suggestions that Emanuela gave to communication students about the campaign that they have currently undertaken, which consists in enriching the library of Bedër University with 5000 new titles. The conversation continued with questions from students who showed interest in various processes including marketing campaigns in Albania and beyond.
