Department of Communication Sciences at "Bedër" University College organized a workshop on "Media Relations with Audiences in the Digital Age". Monika Stafa, Chairperson of the AMA (Audiovisual Media Authority) Chairperson participated in the panel discussion; Thanas Goga, audience measurement expert and professor at the University of Tirana; Alexander Çipa, Head of the Union of Journalists; Dr. Erlis Çela, Head of the Department of Communication Sciences at Bedër University College; Dr. Edlira Mali, a lecturer at the same department, and Doc. Dr. Ramadan Çipuri, lecturer at the Department of Journalism and Communication at the University of Tirana.
Known Albanian writer, poet and scholar Agron Tufa has been honored for the best poetry by the European Academy of Sciences, Arts and Literature. On January 26, the ceremony of awarding literary prizes was held in Paris in 2017.
Alongside other award-winning awards, bearing the names of the world's great poets, was also the Albanian poet Agron Tufa, praised for the best poetry with the prize bearing the name of Ukraine's national poet, Taras Shevchenko. One of the most important prizes that highlights the values of true literature, regardless of the author's name, nationality or language in which he has written for the first time.
In this contest, Tufa appeared with a cluster of 20 poems translated into French by Ardian Marashi and Edmond Tupja. Poems, which attracted the attention of the jury, who nominated him for the literary prizes for poetry 2017, which the Academy gives each year and then announces it and one of the winners.
Agron Tufa is one of the best contemporary Albanian poets. Tufa has always managed to bring verses as fresh as well as with depth of thought. Currently he is an internal lecturer at the Department of Communication Sciences at Bedër University College.
The students of the Department of Communication Sciences in the third year, organized the "Jackques Derrida under our review" activity, within the subject "Analyze Lecture" with lecturer Alexander Chip.
The student panel comprised of Alban Tufa, Ornela Klosi, Fatbardha Bushi, Genti Duka and Ervin Leka brought other students of Communication Sciences a general knowledge of the philosopher Jackques Derrida and his work "Philosophical moments". Referential students introduced issues that the well-known philosopher had studied throughout his life, such as deconstruction, phenomenology, structuralism and post-structuralism.
Within the seminar "Student and profession", the Department of Communication Sciences had invited the editor-in-chief of the "Opinion" show in Tv-Klan, Desada Metaj.
During the conversation with the students Ms. Metaj shared her field reporting experiences as well as the challenges of the journalist's profession. Starting from the curiosity of the students, the editor-in-chief of "Opinion" showed a common day of organizing the political program much followed by Albanians.
Focusing on the passion that a journalist has for his profession and the difficult moments during fieldwork, the editor of the "Opinion" editorial board shared with the students the moments he had experienced during the reporting by Belgrade on the day of the declaration of Independence of Kosovo. Students were interested in issues related to journalists' relationship with politics and the challenges that present-day journalism has with regard to technological developments.
The Debate Club at "Bedër" University College held the next round of debate among the students of the Communication Sciences on the topic: "Should there be a public office press office?"
The protagonists in this show were first and third year students, who brought arguments to defend their perceptions about the subject.
The debate between the two groups was joined by students from the public who asked questions and presented arguments in support of the groups they supported.
The next debate to be held will be a showdown between second and third year students.
Second year students in the Master's degree program in Communication Sciences, "Bedër" University College, presented the sensitizing campaign "Another book for Presevo". The initiative brought together personalities of different fields, representatives of the academic world, politics, journalism and civil society.
The honorary guest in this activity, the Mayor of Presevo, Mr.Albania Arifi, shared with the audience the good news that, finally, is resolving the many years of problematic lack of Albanian textbooks for students in Presheva, Medvegja and Bujanovac. The most important local leader in the Presheva Valley demanded more attention and commitment from Albania for this region, considering the student initiative for collection of books and teaching tools as a special symbol.
The students of the first year of communication visited the premises of the Albanian Telegraphic Agency (ATSH).
The students were welcomed by the Director of ATSH, Armela Krasniqi, who introduced students about her function and expressed the desire and the opportunity of interships at this agency with our communication students.
Then the students were accompanied by the editor-in-chief Mrs. Almarina Gegvataj at the agency premises.
These visits will continue throughout the academic year, in the country's various media, giving students the opportunity to see more closely what they learn and become more familiar with their profession.
